Amédée River

The Amédée River is a tributary of the St. Lawrence River, crossing the town of Baie-Comeau, in the Manicouagan Regional County Municipality on the Côte-Nord, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The eastern part of the Amédée river valley is served by forest roads and indirectly by the Trans-Québec-Labrador road; the lower part, by the route 138. Besides the urban area at the end of the segment, forestry is the main economic activity in this valley. The surface of the Amédée River is usually frozen from the beginning of December to the end of March, except the rapids areas; however, safe circulation on the ice is generally from mid-December to mid-March.

Hoegaarden (öl)

Hoegaarden är ett bryggeri i Hoegaarden i Belgien. Bryggeriet startades redan på medeltiden, och köptes 1966 av Pierre Celis efter en tids nedgång. Namnet blev De Kluis. Man tillverkade lokala specialöl för trakten omkring bryggeriet. Verksamheten gick över förväntan och växte. I början av 1990-talet köptes Pierre Celis ut av bryggerijätten Interbrew, som startade tillverkning i en större skala vilket gör att det numera är lätt att få tag i deras öl världen runt. Det mest kända ölet heter Hoegaarden Wit eller rätt och slätt Hoegaarden. Det är ett överjäst veteöl av den lokala typen Witbier. Den har en speciell kryddning med inslag av koriander och Curaçao. Bryggeriet brygger även den något starkare Hoegaarden Grand Cru med liknande kryddning, det är dock en "tripel" bryggt av korn. Man tillverkar också en riktigt stark, kryddad ale, Verboden Vrucht samt Hoegarden Julius som är en ale med en lite bitter smak med toner av apelsinskal, koriander och Curaçao.

Pará

Pará is a State of Brazil, located in northern Brazil and traversed by the lower Amazon River. It borders the Brazilian states of Amapá, Maranhão, Tocantins, Mato Grosso, Amazonas and Roraima. To the northwest are the borders of Guyana and Suriname, to the northeast of Pará is the Atlantic Ocean. The capital and largest city is Belém, which is located at the mouth of the Amazon. The state, which has 4.1% of the Brazilian population, is responsible for only 2.2% of the Brazilian GDP. Pará is the most populous state of the northern region, with a population of over 8.6 million, being the ninth-most populous state in Brazil. It is the second-largest state of Brazil in area, with 1.2 million km², second only to Amazonas upriver. Its most famous icons are the Amazon River and the Amazon Rainforest. Pará produces rubber, cassava, açaí, pineapple, cocoa, black pepper, coconut, banana, tropical hardwoods such as mahogany, and minerals such as iron ore and bauxite. A new commodity crop is soy, cultivated in the region of Santarém. Every October, Belém receives tens of thousands of tourists for the year's most important religious celebration: the procession of the Círio de Nazaré.
